Terms of Service

Last updated July 30, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of CompStart at compstart.pro and related websites, applications, content, software, downloads, and services (the “Service”).

The legal entity that operates CompStart is Medeu Global OÜ, trading as CompStart, identified in our **Impressum (“we”, “us”, “our**”). CompStart is our brand and product name.

Contact: https://compstart.pro/contact We do not publish a staff email address on this page. Use the contact form for support and legal inquiries.

Please read these Terms carefully. If something is unclear, ask via the contact form before using the Service.

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

2. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time (for example when we add products, change billing, or update legal requirements). Changes are effective when we post the revised Terms on this page (shown by the date at the top), or earlier if you accept them through a click-through or similar mechanism.

It is your responsibility to review this page periodically. If you continue to use the Service after revised Terms take effect, you accept the changes, except where mandatory law requires a different standard (for example for certain consumers).

3. Privacy and data practices

Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. That policy covers, among other things:

  • Payments via Polar
  • Product analytics via self-hosted Umami (including optional session replays and server-side purchase events)
  • Advertising and social measurement (for example TikTok, Meta / Instagram, and similar tools, including via Cloudflare Zaraz when enabled)
  • Email, video delivery, hosting, security (including bot protection), and other processors

By using the Service you also acknowledge those practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Eligibility and accounts

4.1 Age and capacity

You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law and be at least 16 years old (or the higher age required in your country for use of these Services). The Service is not intended for children.

4.2 Account responsibilities

When you create an account or sign in (including via a third-party provider such as Google, or via magic link email), you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information and keep it updated
  • Maintain the security of your credentials and email inbox (including for magic links)
  • Accept responsibility for activity under your account
  • Not share paid account access except as we expressly allow for a given product

Notify us promptly via the Contact page if you suspect unauthorized access or a security breach related to your account.

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose risk to the Service, other users, or our providers.

4.3 Account deletion

You may request account closure via the contact form or in-product tools where available. Closure does not automatically erase records we must keep for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance (see Privacy Policy). Paid entitlements end according to product rules when the account is closed, subject to mandatory consumer law.

5. The Service

5.1 What we offer

CompStart provides digital education and related products, which may include:

  • Free lessons and marketing content
  • Paid courses, academy programs, cohorts, quizzes, and certificates
  • Pro memberships and subscriptions
  • Software downloads, license keys, and related activation tooling
  • Coaching offerings and related checkouts
  • Tools such as display checks, converters, and other applets we publish

Features, catalogs, and pricing may change over time. We do not guarantee that any particular feature, course, or SKU will remain available indefinitely.

5.2 Availability

We may update, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice where practical. We are not liable for unavailability caused by maintenance, outages, force majeure, or third-party providers (hosting, CDN, Polar, video hosts, etc.).

5.3 Educational and production disclaimer

Educational materials and software tools are provided for learning and productivity. Results in your personal or commercial projects depend on your skill, tools, environment, and compliance with third-party software licenses. CompStart is not a substitute for professional advice specific to your production pipeline, employer policy, or regulated industry requirements.

6. Purchases, subscriptions, and Polar

6.1 Pricing and checkout

Prices and product descriptions are shown at the time of purchase. Unless stated otherwise, prices may change for future purchases or renewals. Currency, taxes, and display format may depend on Polar’s checkout and your location.

Checkout is processed by Polar (and their payment processors). You may also be subject to Polar’s terms and privacy policy when you complete payment. We do not store full payment card numbers on CompStart servers.

6.2 Access and licenses

When payment succeeds (or as otherwise stated on the product page), we grant access to the purchased product according to its description—for example a course, software entitlement, coaching session, membership period, or community benefit.

Access may depend on:

  • Your CompStart account remaining in good standing
  • Valid Polar customer / order / subscription state
  • Product-specific license or seat limits (especially for software)

Digital content and software are licensed, not sold, except where a product page expressly says otherwise. Additional end-user license terms may apply to specific software (for example Moray / render plugins) and are incorporated into these Terms for that product when published on the product page or in the download package.

Open-source components bundled with or used by our software remain under their own licenses (for example Apache 2.0 for upstream projects we package). Buying CompStart packaging, builds, or license keys does not re-license third-party open-source code under those upstream terms.

6.3 Subscriptions

Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price and interval unless you cancel through:

  • The Polar customer portal,
  • Account billing tools we provide (for example “Manage billing”), or
  • Other instructions we publish before the renewal date

Canceling typically stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund past periods unless required by law or our refund policy stated at purchase.

6.4 Refunds and EU consumer withdrawal

Refund eligibility is as stated:

  1. At purchase / on the product page,
  2. In product-specific terms, or
  3. As required by mandatory consumer law

If no separate refund policy is stated, digital goods may be non-refundable once access is delivered, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

EEA/UK consumers — right of withdrawal: For many distance contracts you may have a 14-day withdrawal right. For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium and for services that begin during the withdrawal period, that right may be lost or limited if you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right once performance begins / content is supplied—where such consent is collected at checkout. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.

6.5 Taxes

You are responsible for any applicable taxes not collected by us or Polar at checkout, except where we (or Polar on our behalf) are legally required to collect them.

6.6 Chargebacks, fraud, and promotions

Unfounded chargebacks, payment fraud, abuse of promotions, multi-accounting to evade limits, or sharing of single-seat licenses beyond product terms may result in suspension of access, voiding of keys, and recovery of costs to the extent permitted by law.

6.7 Software seats and keys

Where a product includes license keys or activation seats:

  • Keys are personal to the purchaser unless the product page allows transfers
  • Seat counts and activation limits apply as described at purchase
  • You may manage seats through tools we or Polar provide
  • We may revoke keys obtained fraudulently or used in breach of these Terms

6.8 Community benefits (for example Discord)

Some products may include access to a third-party community (for example Discord) delivered via Polar benefits. That community is subject to the third party’s terms and community guidelines. We may remove community access for violations of those rules or of these Terms without refund, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service unlawfully or for illegal content or activity
  • Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others
  • Share, resell, rent, or publicly rebroadcast paid content, course videos, or account access beyond what we expressly allow
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the Service except for ordinary browser use and caching
  • Reverse engineer software except as permitted by mandatory law
  • Interfere with security, rate limits, CAPTCHA/bot protection, or infrastructure; introduce malware
  • Circumvent payment, licensing, geographic, seat, or access restrictions
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Harass users or staff; spam; or abuse support channels
  • Use the Service to build a competing product by systematically copying our course structure, assessments, or proprietary materials

We may investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement where appropriate.

8. User content

If you submit content to the Service (for example form text, profile fields, comments where enabled, or other user-submitted material), you represent that you have the rights to submit it and that it does not violate law or these Terms.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, use, reproduce, modify (for formatting and moderation), and display that content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to provide support. You retain ownership of your content subject to this license.

We may remove content that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is harmful or unlawful. Deleted content may remain in backups for a limited period.

9. CompStart intellectual property

The Service—including branding, design, text, graphics, course and lesson materials, assessments, certificates design, software we publish, and other content we or our licensors provide (excluding your content and third-party open-source components)—is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms and any product-specific license, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended educational and product purposes.

Unless we expressly allow otherwise, you may not:

  • Publicly perform or display the Service commercially
  • Create derivative works of our course materials for distribution or resale
  • Use data mining or similar extraction methods at scale
  • Download content other than for personal use as intended by the product
  • Reverse engineer the Service to build a competing offering
  • Remove proprietary notices

Trademarks: “CompStart” and related marks are ours. Third-party names (Polar, TikTok, Instagram, Meta, Google, Discord, Bunny, Cloudflare, etc.) belong to their owners and are used only for identification.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, pricing, or practices. Leaving the Service means these Terms may no longer apply to the third-party site.

11. Advertising and marketing measurement

We may promote CompStart on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Meta, YouTube, and others, and may use advertising and analytics integrations—including pixels, Events / Conversions APIs, and tag management such as Cloudflare Zaraz—to measure and improve campaigns.

Data practices for those tools are described further in the Privacy Policy. Your use of those social platforms remains subject to their terms. Ads and measurement tools do not change the core license you receive for products you purchase, except where a promotion has its own stated conditions.

12. Beta features and previews

We may offer experimental, beta, or preview features. They may be incomplete, change without notice, or be withdrawn. They are provided as is unless we state otherwise in writing.

13. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED; OR THAT CONTENT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PARTICULAR PRODUCTION OR COMMERCIAL USE. EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND SOFTWARE ARE USED AT YOUR OWN RISK.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN DISCLAIMERS; IN THOSE CASES, DISCLAIMERS APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED EURO (€100).

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW (INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, OR FOR FRAUD OR FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION, WHERE SUCH LIMITATION IS PROHIBITED).

MANDATORY CONSUMER RIGHTS IN YOUR COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE REMAIN UNAFFECTED.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from and against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights, including use of the Service by anyone using your account with your permission or through your negligence in securing access.

16. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, if we discontinue the Service, or if continued access would create material risk (security, legal, or abuse).

You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) will survive termination.

Paid access ends according to the product terms when canceled or when the paid period expires, subject to any rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may also apply if you are a consumer.

Subject to those mandatory protections, the courts of Estonia have jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. Consumers in the EU/EEA may also bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence where mandatory law so provides.

Where permitted by law, you and we agree not to bring claims against each other as a class, collective, or representative action.

EU consumers: the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform is available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We prefer to resolve issues directly via the Contact page first.

18. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Impressum, and any product-specific licenses or purchase terms displayed at checkout or on product pages, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede prior agreements on that subject.

If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization or transfer of the Service. Notices may be provided via the Service, account email, or the contact channels we designate.

19. Feedback

If you provide feedback, ideas, or suggestions about the Service or these Terms, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use and exploit them without obligation or compensation to you, and without any obligation of confidentiality unless we agree otherwise in writing.
